How Geopits Synced Salesforce and A2Z Through a Databricks Medallion Architecture

About
EmeraldX
The client runs a Databricks-based medallion architecture that ingests Salesforce and A2Z data for reporting. Salesforce data is extracted via SOAP API through Amazon AppFlow, and A2Z environment data is pulled via REST API. Both land in the Bronze layer as raw data, get cleaned and deduplicated into Silver, and are modeled into a star schema in the Gold layer, which Power BI uses for business-ready dashboards.
Business Challenges
The existing pipeline moved data in one direction, toward reporting, with no mechanism to keep Salesforce and A2Z in sync.
Salesforce and A2Z data flowed into the reporting layer, but the two systems had no way to stay synchronized with each other.
Companies eligible for A2Z, based on opportunity stage and billing approval, had no automated path from Salesforce into A2Z.
New or updated companies in A2Z had no corresponding update path back into Salesforce Accounts.
Account name, HQ address, website, and company ID could silently fall out of sync between the two systems.
Project Objectives
The business required a bi-directional integration between Salesforce and A2Z to keep company and account data consistent and automatically synchronized.
Key Goals:
- Auto-create A2Z companies from qualified Salesforce opportunities
- Sync new and updated A2Z companies back into Salesforce Accounts
- Detect and correct field-level mismatches across both systems
Solution Provided by Geopits
Geopits designed a Databricks-centric integration using Bronze-only ingestion, with all business logic and API orchestration handled inside Databricks notebooks.
Salesforce and A2Z data continues to land in Bronze via AppFlow, then moves into cleaned, deduplicated Silver tables on a scheduled Databricks job.
A Databricks notebook reads Silver tables and applies business rules to identify Salesforce opportunities with Stage ≥ 90% and Approved_For_A2Z__c = TRUE.
Eligible accounts trigger company creation in A2Z through its REST API, invoked directly from the Databricks notebook.
The generated A2Z Company ID, along with any new, updated, or mismatched fields (name, HQ address, website, company ID), is written back to Salesforce through its SOAP API.

Results & Business Impact
This engagement is a solution design and requirements build. The table below reflects the capabilities the architecture is built to deliver, not yet-measured production results, since implementation and rollout metrics weren't part of the brief.
Key outcomes
Automated Company Creation
Seamless Company ID Synchronization
Bi-Directional Data Synchronization

Automated Data Consistency
Conclusion
Geopits designed a Databricks-centric, bi-directional integration between Salesforce and A2Z, layering rule-based company creation, reverse account sync, and automated field-level reconciliation on top of the existing Bronze-Silver-Gold reporting pipeline.
